ASP April 27th

First we were divided some groups. After watching some videos on YouTube, we discussed the videos. It is difficult to make student who does not participate in a discussion join but I think other students' behavior can change the student's attitude. Also to make good discussion, the words we use as Aizuchi must be English Aizuchi. I want to change that next time.

Then we watched another video. A foreigner speaks KATAKANA English! It was funny. I wondered the circumstance may change how to speak own language. On the other hand I cannot believe him completely because it is possible to act like Japanese.

After that we discussed again. However the theme was hard for me.

ASP assignment

・The shocking way to run effective meetings
-Of course the video's way can make us participate in the meeting but participating in the meeting with fear makes no good ideas. We should take part in the meeting independently. That will make good ideas.

・Bad example of a discussion
-all members do not see the teacher.
-Members speak to others at their discretion.
-The leader(?) don't think and says she doesn't have any opinions.
-Some members do not see the speaker.
-There is the member who doesn't say anything.
-There are some menbers who insist only their opinions.
-During the discussion, asking other topic(like lunch time) is wrong.
-Be emotional is bad for discussion.
-Members should listen and think other's opinion and discuss.

・Good example of a discussion
-They look at teachers when she speak about the discussion.
-They all pay attention to the leader.
-The leader explain the introduction of the discussion clearly.
-Members have own opinions.
-The leader plays good host.
-They listen other's opinion and share thier opinions.

・There are a leader and official recorder in the group.
・The leader tells explanations, sumary and conclusions of the topicand ask members their opinions.

+fact
+question with reasons
or+all of these

bad discussion
・silence
・Members don't listen other opinions
・Members don't speak with other members.

about 2
・There are much people who are against.

AGAINST
-Sutudents are too young to study other languages before learning their own language.
-There are few teachers who can teach English to elementary school students well.
-We don't have enough time to teach English to students

FOR
-It is the best time for human to learn English(or other languages) .
-Using English from young age is good way to master English.

about 3
・There are some opinions in our discussion.
・We weren't able to decide well which was best.

AGAINST
-We don't have big serious problems about adulthoot age so we do not have to change.
-We cannot distinguish the phisical and mental differences between 20 and 19, 19 and 18.
-Our mental is like children at 18

FOR
-18 is the best because we graduate from high school at 18 and that is good chance to regard an -adult.

19 IS THE BEST AGE
-19 is the best because we all entered universities and there are some who start to working.

Blogging assignment: How do "good" college teachers present information?"

According to Meiland, a "good" college teacher presents information in the following way. Good college teachers present information which means what is currently believed. However they don't present informations like high school teachers' way that the material are presented in an authoritative manner that high school teachers present the material as if it were absolutely and eternally true. In a word a good college teacher presents information with materials in the way that encourage the students to examine the basis on which the information is or should be believed. Also I agree with Meiland's opinion because I think the way of learning in college should be different from high school's. Of course the lecture that teachers talk most of time is necessary but participating in the class positively is important too. Students should have desire for study more by themselves in college.
